It’s 34 years since a woman last raced in Formula 1. David’s late sister was an exciting young karter, who he believed had the greater talent. Being six years older, David had opportunities to progress while her own petered out. In the firm belief that to be a successful racing driver you needed to be skilled, determined, competitive and brave, but you didn’t have to be a boy, David remains hugely attracted to the opportunities W Series offers and firmly believes that, aided by W Series, a woman will once again grace an F1 grid in the next few years.
